SPRINGFIELD, VA, December 13, 2017 – Interstate Moving | Relocation | Logistics [MoveInterstate.com], based in Springfield, VA, is once again proud to be a multi-faceted contributor to Wreaths Across America’s annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, among others, on December 16.  This is the third year Interstate and its employees have supported this sacred event honoring our nation’s fallen soldiers.

“It is an honor to once again be a part of Wreaths Across America’s annual tribute to our fallen heroes and their loved ones,” says Interstate President John [J.D.] Morrissette. “This ceremonial occasion is a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice our nation’s soldiers have made to protect our freedom, and gives us the opportunity to thank them for their service to our country,” adds Morrissette.

Wreaths Across America and America’s trucking industry together are expected to haul 246,700 wreaths (60 tractor-trailer truckloads) to Arlington National Cemetery.  Interstate driver, Chuck Corbin, who is an Army veteran, volunteered his personal time again this year to haul thousands of wreaths from Calais, MA, to Arlington National cemetery. Interstate driver, Morris Pearsall, delivered over 20,000 wreaths to Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, and delivered another truckload to North Carolina.  This year, Interstate will have four tractor-trailers participating in wreath delivery.

Interstate is equally honored to host and facilitate the Wreaths Across America Recycling Dock Operation for the third year. Immediately following the wreath-laying ceremony, all Wreaths Across America participating drivers will drive their tractor trailers to Interstate’s Springfield, VA headquarters to recycle the wreath packing debris, and separate the cardboard, plastic wrap and wood skids to be recycled. The Recycling Dock Operation is operated by over forty Interstate volunteers whose efforts allow for 100% of the debris from the event to be recycled.

During 2017, approximately 1,570,000 remembrance wreaths will be placed at veteran’s cemeteries across the nation through Wreaths Across America at more than 1,400 participating locations. Sixty thousand volunteers are expected to be placing wreaths on gravesites at Arlington National Cemetery alone. Interstate and its employees are proud to be a part of such a special and moving event.
