SPRINGFIELD, VA, May 16, 2016 – Interstate Moving | Relocation | Logistics, one of the country’s largest independent moving companies, is thrilled to announce that its Executive Vice President of Administration, Margie Malloy, has been nominated for the Sister Eymard Gallagher Award by the 2016 Human Resources Leadership Awards (HRLA) of Greater Washington. The award honors human resources professionals for their leadership, dedication and engagement of employees in giving back to the community through service to others.

“Serving our community is a huge part of our company culture,” says Arthur E. (Bud) Morrissette, IV, Interstate’s Chief Executive Officer. “It boosts employee morale, it helps attract and retain passionate employees, and it encourages the development of leadership skills. Plus, it lets the region know that we are thankful for its continued loyalty,” adds Morrissette.

Charitable giving has been one of Interstate’s core values since its founding in 1943. In fact, in order to increase employee participation and excitement, as well as make the biggest impact possible within the community through the organization’s charitable endeavors, Ms. Malloy has executive oversight of the company’s CHEER Committee (Charity, Health, Environment, Events & Recreation).Last year alone, the CHEER committee, and Interstate as a company, supported more than 75 nonprofits. It’s no surprise that Interstate was a Helios Apollo Award Finalist in both 2014 and 2015, a coveted service award that recognizes companies for creating “cultures of intention.”

The HRLA of Greater Washington promotes and advances excellence in the Human Resources community. The 2016 winners will be announced on June 7, 2016 at the 15th Annual HRLA Gala at the Marriot Washington Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.
